Great work!

I laughed so hard at Bean's shuffling in the player selection screen. Great job emulating the moves and stuff too! Entertaining and fun!

Hahahaha. This cheered me up bigtime. I love it! Great start to my day.

glad to hear it!

Holy fucking SHIT Oscar, best stick movie EVER!

Seriously, the time you've spent has paid off. I've never seen such level of detail, such care taken into the script, dialogue, even the camera angles and things like the general doing his little hand signals to give orders. So much thought and research went into this. I watched C and D over at your site as well and jeez- I dunno what to say. Castle 3 is the epitome of the stick figure genre. All those years we spent as stick animators we worked towards something like this, from Project 1 to Joe Zombie 2 or whatever. This is the pinnacle of what the stick death genre has becoome, and I don't think it can be pushed any further at all. I defy anyone to top this, cause I sure as hell couldn't. No more stick movies people, the genre is dead. Oscar's just beat the shit out of every other stick animator out there, and I can't imagine things getting any better.

Get-lost responds:

Dave, I've looked up to your animations for a long time and I still do. Thanks for the review mate.

HAhaha.

The guy below me is a chump with no sense of irony. This is fantastic. What was originally a dumb skit about a guy suddenly breaking out with a scatman dance has been turned into an epic of fucked up proportions. Crazy stuff. The blatant gratuitous boning sequence should've been a hint that this movie wasn't serious. The fucking music at the end was the most amazing contrast ever as well. Keep this shit up dude.

Haha! I can explain my score perfectly here.

First of all, I enjoy the choppiness in this movie! I think it adds to the sense of silly parody, considering Star Wars itself is so damn slick and overproduced. The little movements made when the characters talking such as their heads bobbing about really add to the humour in a subtle way. So keep those.

Keep the animation the way it is, but I'd suggest improving some of the drawings. I'm sure that'll come with time.

The only beef I have with this movie is the voice acting. I am sorry, but it is horrible and does actually ruin the movie for me.

Get this: When I have the speakers turned off and I watch the movie with just the subtitles I find this movie hilarious (especially the card scene between Fett and Vader). My friend and I really pissed ourselves at that scene in university, but when I came home to watch it again with sound I found that the voice-acting just killed anything funny being said. I mean, listen to Obi 1 at the start of the movie. He's meant to be shouting but it doesn't sound like it. It just sounds like a small boy pretending to shout. I know its awkward when you try to pull off convincing voice acting when there's other people around but its well worth trying harder. Please keep that in consideration.

Ignoring the sound the humour was pretty spot on! Personally I didn't enjoy 2 as much because it was much more of a direct dig at George Lucas rather than a subtle pisstake. Throwing Vader into that card situation still has me giggling thinking about it.

Keep up the good work :). I'm hoping to release the long awaited Stick Wars Episode III (started last May as soon as I saw SW3) so please keep an eye out. I'd like to hear your feedback also.

Cool great to get a review from a fellow author

Yeah these were the old days where I didn't really know what I was doing, probably good advice to mute it so you don't have to here the bad acting or the awful sound quality.

I actually upped my style a little now, not sure if you've gotten a chance to see TF 2 (my latest cartoon) which has a slightly improved animation, but I’m now trying to animate to TV standard. No more of those striate flip heads when they turn, soon you will see them turn as if they were 3D...sort of...well not really 3D but you know what I mean.

For what little I have animated of part 2 the heads still bop around hehe, but there is also a little cartoon expression where the shape of Boba and Vader’s eye's change shape to indicate more emotion. But overall the style hasn't changed much.

Anyway thanks for the feedback, can’t wait to see Stick Wars Episode III :)

Thanks

Mike

Hello.

Although I've used that scream in a movie before, it still caught me off guard and scared the hell out of me. I can see what you're saying here. Good movie, but like the rest of the reviews say, I would suggest working on your characters a little. Also, I would suggest making future projects a little longer. Keep up the good work, you'll be in the top 50 in no time.

Thank you.

I like.

Enjoyable little tale. A pleasant and inoffensive little story thats fun. You don't sound Liverpudian by the way mate, do you just study there and come from elsewhere? If so, my guess is Scotland. Keep up the great work anyway, make some more.

Salter1701 responds:

Thanks for the review, glad you liked it.
Nope i'm not scottish, I do come from Liverpool. I tried to hide my accent so people would understand what I said.

Har har, excellent.

A geeky Christmas indeed. I'll probably spend tommorow at my mate's playing Doom 3 and Half Life 2 =P. Hooray for us Brits. Keep up the good work, I enjoyed that. Your excellent graphics and sound combine to make a great yankee cartoon style. Keep it going.

Hello.

Excellent animation, I was reading your past review there. 30fps? Wow, in my opinion thats pretty overkill but you did a great job on it anyway. I would suggest lowering it to 18-20. That area is the perfect mix of smoothness and practicality for animating (20 being 4 frames lower than television), so its not exactly choppy. I would suggest 20, it'll make it a lot easier for you. Not only that, but you'll be able to finish your animation as a whole a lot sooner, allowing you to go over it and refine what you think you could improve. Hope thats helped. Keep up the great work.

AligatorHead responds:

yeah you've clarified that i shoudl work 18-20. but im not too confident about that, im still debating as to how much FPS i wanna go. Not 18, maybe 20, or 24. i think i might go 24 for this BIG MOVIE im gonna make.
But i'll try 20 in this small little before christmas movie.
wellim real busy. gotta run.

I like beans. A lot. And cheese.
